On Monday, retailers will put in their final orders in for Burn the Orphanage: Born to Lose #2. The first issue was a bona fide success for me and Daniel, and we want to make sure you come back for the next one. Issue two is special for me, because I got to take these characters I fell in love with over the summer, and throw them into a bizarre and awesome world of to-the-death fighting. There’s 42 pages of brawling, humor, sex, monsters, Rock, Bear, and Lex. Daniel and I worked hard to make it at least three times better than issue one. While each part in Born to Lose is a standalone, this is definitely setting up some dope stuff in issue three.
Here are the first ten pages of the book, so you have an idea as to what you’re signing up for come December 4th.
I’ve shown you guys the two covers that all retailers can order, so if you want to make sure you get one, give your local comic store the following deets:
BURN THE ORPHANAGE: BORN TO LOSE #2 (OF 3) COV A GRACE - OCT130467
BURN THE ORPHANAGE: BORN TO LOSE #2 (OF 3) COV B MOORE - OCT130468
Thanks for your support.
I’m so jealous of John for getting to color these great pages by Sina. I miss working with that guy. More reason I need to be writing. For now, it’s nice just to be his fan for a minute. Tell your local comic shop you want a copy of this before it’s too late.

I want one of these shirts so badly!
I was lucky enough to do a cover for Riley Rossmo’s new book, DRUMHELLAR, out next week from Image Comics’ Shadowline imprint. If you love rural America, the supernatural, and witty characters, you’re going to love this absolute delight of a book.
Colors by the lovely Shaun Steven Struble.
This is another Hastings exclusive, so you’ll either have to visit one of their shops, or go to their website to order one.
Fan-coloration of this amazing piece from my found-artwork folder. Artwork by Jaime Hernandez, colors by me. (Hopefully I didn’t ruin it by adding to it)
Whoops. Posted this on LDB’s blog yesterday, when I meant to post it to mine.
Check out our “bad luck” Hastings variant for My Little Pony issue 13!
We’re just full of Hastings Exclusive covers these days. Here’s Sina and I’s My Little Pony #13 variant.
I won’t lie. This is my favorite cover we’ve done.
I remember being so excited when Army of Darkness came out. I was twelve and my cousins Chandi and Jeri had a VHS copy of Evil Dead 2 that they recorded off of late night HBO. It quickly became all of our favorite horror movie. We watched it a thousand times. So we were all pretty excited that it had a sequel and that we’d get to watch it in the theatre instead of a grainy video tape in SLP mode.
Since then, I have purchased this movie several times in several formats (bootleg extended VHS, official VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray). I even sent fan-mail to the film’s star Bruce Campbell when I was in high school. The trilogy still remains one of my favorites, regularly getting pulled out to be watched in October to celebrate Halloween.
I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of something official connected to one of my favorite childhood memories, even if it’s just for one cover. Thank you to James at Hastings and Dynamite for letting Sina and I play a part.
This cover will be available directly from Hastings (http://gohastings.com) at a later date.
Check out the Adventure Time #21 Detroit FanFare exclusive cover that I drew and Struble colored!
Hey, look! Sina and I did another Adventure Time cover.
Shirts are in my hands and I’m addressing envelopes. I hope to have them in the mail as soon as possible. Yay. (This shirt was only available as a pre-order in August, and will not be reprinted. But I will debut the next limited edition shirt very soon)
